Your Smile

You smiled at me today.

It reminded me of so many things. Like the way the sun would hit my face I the morning, waking me up from my slumber. The sun’s early morning rays warms me from the inside out, spreading a comfortable feeling inside me, starting my day right.

It’s like when I turn on my radio and the first song I heard turns out to be a new song from my favorite band, one that the radio station played for the first time ever. Or when I would open my computer’s music player and the songs that played on random are the songs that I feel like singing to that day.

Your smile reminds me of the first day of vacation – when everyone is finally free of schoolwork and everyone heads out somewhere to relax and unwind. No exams or projects to worry about.

It reminds me of that perfect sunny day – when the sky’s all blue, white puffy clouds floating across, with the lightest breeze lifting my hair up, cooling me down.

Your smile. It reminded me that is one thing that you usually give me…that you also give to the world. The smile that you share to everyone; the one thing I could own but other people do to.

You smiled at me.

And I smiled back.
