Switchfoot in Manila
Hi! Obviously, September 10, 2007 is long gone, so I turned off the comments on this page. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets and watched the concert — the band loved the night! :) If you want to read about my Switchfoot in Manila experience, go here. Till next concert!

Mark your calendars, everyone! Grammy-nominated, alternative rock band from Switchfoot is (finally) coming to Manila! That’s on September 10, 2007 at the Cuneta Astrodome! This is an event that you should not miss!
Some Questions
Wait, who is Switchfoot?
Well, just in case you don’t know (my gosh, where have you been?), Switchfoot is an alternative rock band from San Diego, California, composed of Jon Foreman (vocals, songwriter, guitars), Tim Foreman (bass, backing vocals), Jerome Fontamillas — he’s Pinoy! — (guitar, keyboard, backing vocals), Drew Shirley (guitar) and Chad Butler (drums). They’re a popular rock band known for their energetic live shows and poetic (and totally awesome) songs. :D
They’re Christians, right?
Yes, they’re all Christians, but they don’t like being called a Christian rock band. “It’s a faith, not a genre,” as Jon Foreman said.
I think I’ve heard of them before, but I can’t remember where.
Let me refresh your memory:
- If you watched A Walk to Remember, you’ve most probably heard of them. Switchfoot’s songs composed about 1/3 of the soudntrack (Dare You To Move, You, Learning to Breathe, Only Hope — yes, it was a Switchfoot original, not Mandy Moore), and Jon Foreman also sang Someday We’ll Know with Mandy Moore.
- Spider-man 2 also made use of Switchfoot’s song Meant to Live. So fitting for Spidey, donchathink? :)
- They also appeared in Elektra’s soundtrack, with Sooner or Later.
- I used to hear Oh! Gravity in some of ABS-CBN’s shows, so you may have heard of them there too.
In case you have a new one to add here, feel free to contact me through the comment form below. :)
