Backgammon Masters in 12 Languages

Back when I was young, I remember that one of our past times was to play checkers. I seriously sucked at that game. The checkerboard we owned back then was those two-in-one game, where the other side of the board was for backgammon. Since it is not a popular game here, I had no idea how to play it…so I skipped and decided to look for another game instead. :P

Moving on, since everyone’s into internet games right now, backgammon totally follows suit. Interestingly, BackgammonMasters.com not only developed an online backgammon game, but created it in different languages so more people around the world can play. Backgammon Masters is the largest online community for backgammon players, where the players could not only play but participate in a real-time online chat. Players and wannabe players can also learn how to play, get tips and strategies in the website in their own language.

So if you’re a backgammon afficionado, or you want to learn how to play, drop by this website to get your gaming fix. Then maybe you can teach me how to play? :D

European Holidays

One of my goals in life is to be able to travel around the world — see beautiful places, take lots of photos and bring home lots of souvenirs. :P Besides Sydney, where I plan to go to next year, I also really want to go to Europe because of their rich culture and because I really don’t know much about it. Some of the prime spots to be visited for me is Rome, Paris, Spain, Vienna, Scotland, London.

From my list, you can see I’m mostly relying on the popular cities…but I’m game to visit other places in Europe! Because of the nature of my work, I am being exposed to different places in Europe through our training websites and that made me curious. Bring me to Norway, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands! Finland, Sweden, Italy, Ireland! I’m even game to have holidays to Turkey. :)

But of course, I can’t really afford it yet. But if you want to have a European holiday, then visity Holiday Hypermarket (holidayhypermarket.co.uk). Holiday Hypermarket is one of the biggest travel agencies based in Europe, which offers a lot of package holiday bargains, last minute deals, cheap flights and inclusive holidays to destinations not only to Europe but to anywhere around the world.

Now how about that. If you’re from Europe and you plan to visit the Philippines, it’s lovely here during Christmas. A bit noisy because of the firecrackers, but still lovely. ;)

Mobile Website Ready?

Having worked in a telecommunications company for ten months didn’t exactly teach me how to make a wap site on my own. Although I know that WML is almost the same as HTML, I never learned how to make it, and come to think of it, I never bothered because I feel like viewing my site in a mobile device smaller than a laptop is not fun (I tried once with Captain Tal, and it’s all messed up. Ergh).

But with the advent of all these money making schemes online, the mobile website industry is bound to grow. I hear there’s even Adsense for mobile now, right? Well, we can only tell how far this would go. Maybe when our mobile internet becomes a bit more faster, I’d reconsider making a mobile version of Refine Me. But for now, nah. :)

Oh, and please don’t try viewing my blog on your phone. Trust me, it would take you forever to scroll. :P

Super Media Store

One of the things that really frustrate me at home is whenever our printer would run out of ink. Our printer is from Epson and believe me, Epson cartridges are not cheap! Especially when all cartridges run out all at the same time.

Good thing there are stores like Super Media Store (supermediastore.com) who sell these things in bulk, which makes them a bit cheaper than buying them one by one. Super Media Store is a major reseller and wholesaler of blank CD DVD media products. Not only do they sell printer ink, but they also sell blank CDs and DVDs and packaging, computer hardware and memory.

So if you’re in Southern California (because I’m not), check out supermediastore.com for your media needs. :)

Help for Addiction

If there’s one thing I learned in my faith walk, it’s that one cannot make it alone. Like what that song says, No man is an island. This is very much true especially for people who are recovering from addiction. Back in college, we visited a drug rehabilitation center for a project and interviewed their residents. Most of them were recovering addicts, and they told us that aside from their own personal willpower to admit themselves inside and go under drug treatment, they would not have made it to where they were it if weren’t for the people who loved and cared for them inside.

I know I have no personal experience to share of it, but I believe that one can conquer any kind of addiction with people by their side. Treatment centers such as The Watershed not only provide quality care for recovering addicts, but it is very affordable too. Recover from drug addiction and alcoholism, get healed in mind, body and spirit and have hope for a new life. Life is too precious to be wasted on drugs or alcohol.
