Backups are Important

As all of you may have read a few months back, my beloved laptop Ginger had an accident: her hard drive crashed. :( I lost all files without any recent backup — the most recent one was May of 2006. It was heart breaking, because it was totally unexpected (although it may be for me not to be disturbed while reading Harry Potter 7) and although I was planning to reformat Ginger, I wasn’t really ready to say goodbye to my files in that way just yet.

But it’s done and I can’t recover those files anymore. :( That’s life. But this time I vow to be more careful with my files and do the most important thing a computer owner must do: backup. Which is why I am really glad that websites such as IBackup exist. Although I am not really qualified to use it because I’m not a small business, it’s still a pretty nifty idea. IBackup is the leading Online Backup service for small businesses. For as low as $9.95/month, you can have as much as 5GB of storage/backup space! Other features include automated scheduled backups, drive letter access to backup data anywhere via browser, and supports open file backups, which is a key requirement in backing up some types of data such as Outlook files.

IBackup has won several awards including PC World 2006 and PC Magazine editor’s choice award, and uses the same techniques that Fortune 500 rely on to safeguard their data.

Remember, backing up is important! Make sure you don’t lose any of your data by backing them up regularly in reliable backup spaces. :)
