6,000 words is stupendous progress--but perhaps too much, particularly if you're feeling burned out already? Make sure to stop before you wear yourself out so you can return to things refreshed! I remember noting while reading memoirs by several very prolific writers (like King and Bradbury) that they did it precisely by *not* overdoing it every day, typically averaging no more than 2,000 words a day.

And definitely, ask that inner editor to go take a vacation in the Bahamas. :) First drafts are supposed to have problems--how else can you feel free to pour out the material that can best lead you in unexpected and interesting directions?

Best of luck with your nano experience this year!

Hi Heather! Thanks for the encouraging words. I think I may have been pushing myself a bit yesterday so I would be ahead of my word count goal. Haha. Now I'm feeling all better and I'm going to continue writing no matter what. :P

And I've sent my inner editor to the North Pole for now. Haha. :)
